BIDDING PRAYERS:  24th SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

Priest:             To the Lord God who always helps us, let us pray in the name of Our Lord Jesus, the Christ, the Son God.

Reader:          For the Church: That all who confess Jesus as Messiah may take up the cross and follow Jesus by sacrificing themselves for the sake of the gospel.

Lord hear us ……………………………….Lord graciously hear us

Reader:          For leaders of the Church: That Pope Francis may lead us by example to set our hearts not on human insight but on divine wisdom.

                        Lord hear us………………………………..Lord graciously hear us.

Reader:          For the World: That those who set their faces against this world’s injustice may confront worldly powers with the unconquerable witness of truth.

Reader:          That the hungry and homeless may find in the hearts of Christians a faith that manifests itself in practical care and concern for their needs.

Reader:          That those who work in business and finance may find courage to bear witness to honesty and integrity above human profit.

Reader:          That we ma find strength in our celebration of the eucharist to deny ourselves and hear witness in love to Christ and the gospel.

Reader:          Let us remember especially today Elizabeth Prescott Vigil Mass); (Simon Fender 9.30am Mass); (Dougie Roxburgh 11.00am Mass) (The Parish 6.30pm) for whom this Mass is offered.
