BIDDING PRAYERS:

THE MOST HOLY BODY AND BLOOD OF CHRIST

Priest:             As we bless God the Most High, let us offer intercession for the needs of all in the name of Jesus, the compassionate Saviour.

Reader:           For Pope Francis and all the leaders of the Church;  may they bear witness to the compassion of Christ for the multitude, never sending anyone away, but gladly offering to all the word of God and the bread of life.

Lord hear us …………….………………………Lord graciously hear us

Reader:           For all the peoples of earth, may they be delivered from seeing one another as enemies, finding instead common ground and sharing together the feast of life.

Lord hear us …………….………………………Lord graciously hear us

Reader:           For our government and all those who are elected to serve our communities; may they pay heed to Our Lord’s invocation to unity and seek ways to serve the common good.

Lord hear us …………….………………………Lord graciously hear us

Reader:           That the hungry and homeless, those starved for daily bread or human dignity, may find in the disciples of Christ generous stewards of God’s bountiful gifts.

Lord hear us …………….………………………Lord graciously hear us

Reader:           May those who prepare our young people to come to the table and those who bring communion to the sick and housebound be living signs of the presence of Christ.

Lord hear us………………………………….….Lord graciously hear us

Reader:           For our Parish; We pray especially for our children who receive their First Holy Communion for the first time this weekend

Lord hear us …………….………………………Lord graciously hear us

Reader:           Let us remember especially today (Denis Allen, Vigil Mass); (The Parish, 9.30 am Mass); (Christopher Tipping, 11.30am Mass); (Brian, Olga and Lynn Thompson, 6.30pm) for whom this Mass is offered.

And also, all the Holy Souls and all those who have died recently, (especially Joseph Dolphin );  may they rest in peace and rise in glory.

Lord hear us …………….………………………Lord graciously hear us

Reader:           Let us pray for our own private intentions; (pause).   We ask Mary, our Mother, to join with us in our prayers: Hail Mary …

Priest:             Heavenly Father, your Son invoked your name in prayer while here on earth among us, we now follow his pattern and offer you these prayers.  We ask that you hear and grant them, through Christ Our Lord, Amen.
