BIDDING PRAYERS:  THIRD SUNDAY OF EASTER

Priest:             In the name of Jesus, whom the God of our ancestors has raised up and exalted as Leader and Saviour, let us pray on behalf of all.

Reader:          For the Church; called by the risen Lord to be like the fishing net of the gospel: may it be rich in diversity and unbroken in unity.

Lord hear us …………….………………………Lord graciously hear us

Reader:          For Pope Francis and all the leaders of the Church; May they lead as servants acting with prudence and integrity.

Lord hear us …………….………………………Lord graciously hear us

Reader:          For those who strive to silence those who speak in the name of Jesus: may the Holy Spirit open their minds and lead them to repentance.

Lord hear us …………….………………………Lord graciously hear us

Reader:          For our brothers and sisters enduring persecution especially those who suffered from the bomb attacks in Sri Lanka; may the risen Lord strengthen all who suffer for the sake of the Name.

Lord hear us …………….………………………Lord graciously hear us

Reader:          For our Parish; may we, casting our nets in faith and hope, reach out to engage with all members of our society and encourage them to share in our life of faith.

Lord hear us …………….………………………Lord graciously hear us

Reader:          Let us remember especially today (Thomas Craven, Vigil Mass); (The Robert Greenwood, 9.30 am Mass); (Bill Gould  11am Mass); (The Parish, 6.30pm) for whom this Mass is offered.

And also, all the faithful departed, especially Eric Melling and those who have died recently, may they be raised up on the last day.

Lord hear us …………….………………………Lord graciously hear us

Reader:          Let us pray for our own private intentions; (pause).   In this month of May we ask in a special way for the intercession of our Blessed Mother: Hail Mary…

Priest:             God Our Father, hear these petitions which your people place before you on this day. Help us to cast our nets wide that we may recognise your presence feeding and guiding us.  We make all our prayers through Christ Our Lord, Amen.
