BIDDING PRAYERS:  SECOND SUNDAY OF EASTER

Priest:             In the name of Jesus, the Living One, let us intercede for those who share with us the sufferings and the glory of the Gospel, and for the needs of all the world.

Reader:          For the Church; That the signs and wonders born of faith and love may be worked among all peoples through believers who bear testimony to Jesus

Lord hear us …………….………………………Lord graciously hear us

Reader:          For leaders of the Church; may they lead with humility and mercy and seek to protect the vulnerable and the least.

                        Lord hear us …………….………………………Lord graciously hear us

Reader:          For those killed or affected by the bombings in Sri Lanka; that faith in the resurrection of the Lord will inspire people to rebuild their lives and not allow violence or hatred to triumph.

Reader:          That the sick of our community and any who are troubled in spirit may find healing in the name of Jesus..

Reader:          For our Parish; That we, who have not seen the risen Lord and yet have come to believe, may share the forgiveness we have received.

Reader:          Let us remember especially today (Elizabeth Prescott Vigil Mass); (The Parish, 9.30 am Mass); (Winifred Mary Walne  11am Mass); (Peter Haythornthwaite, 6.30pm) for whom this Mass is offered.

And also, all the faithful departed, especially (N) and those who have died recently, may they be raised up on the last day.

Priest:             God Our Father, hear these petitions which your people place before you on this day. May we grow in an ever deeper appreciation of his real presence among us.  We make all our prayers through Christ Our Lord, Amen.
