BIDDING PRAYERS

2ND SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

Priest:             Let us intercede before God whose hand provides for the needs of all

Reader:          For the Church; That adorned by one Spirit with a variety of gifts, the Church may delight in diversity and persevere in unity.

Lord hear us ……………………………….Lord graciously hear us

Reader:          That Francis, our Pope, may lead us by example to set our hearts not on human insight but on divine wisdom.

Lord hear us ……………………………….Lord graciously hear us

Reader:          For the world; That the nations may lay aside the hatreds of the past, and find a new future together.

Lord hear us ……………………………….Lord graciously hear us

Reader:          That, weary of violence, countries ravaged by ethnic conflict may begin to rebuild, their spirit no longer desolate.

Lord hear us ……………………………….Lord graciously hear us

Reader:          For our Parish; That, trusting in the power and compassion of Jesus we may hasten the coming of his hour.

Lord hear us ……………………………….Lord graciously hear us

Reader:          Let us remember especially today (Frank Bevan, Vigil Mass); (The Parish, 9.30 am Mass); (Jim Hankinson, 11am Mass); (Heaney and Holman Families, 6.30pm) for whom this Mass is offered.

And also, all the faithful departed, especially Imelda Harrison and Agnes Crook who have died recently; may they be raised up on the last day.

Lord hear us ……………………………….Lord graciously hear us

Reader:          Let us pray for our own private intentions; (pause).   We ask Mary, our Mother, to join her prayers to ours: Hail Mary …

Priest:             God Our Father, hear these petitions which your people place before you on this day. May we grow in an ever deeper appreciation of his real presence among us.  We make all our prayers through Christ Our Lord, Amen.
