Lest We Forget
There are men laid down in graveyards,
Gone while in their prime.
Loving fathers and their sons.
They had so little time.
Here today and gone tomorrow.
God's servants and the Crown.
Laid down their lives for you and me.
Greater love hath no man known.
We remember them with sorrow,
We remember them with pride,
The flower of their country,
The Lord with them abide.
Chosen by their Father,
To be heroes for their faith.
For love of God and neighbour,
They died a heroes death.
Their names are high in glory.
We never should be blind,
that they died to make a better world,
for those they left behind.
We carry down the memory.
We try to do our best,
To make this world a better place,
Because of those now at their rest.
