Fairtrade.

A C.A.F.O.D. CERTIFICATE and a FAIRTRADE PLEDGE, were presented to Fr. Francis Davidson O.S.B., a previous Parish Priest of Brownedge St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Bamber Bridge, on Friday April 2nd. 2004, at the end of morning Mass. St. Mary's is the first Catholic Church to become a Fairtrade Church in South Ribble.
The C.A.F.O.D. CERTIFICATE, was presented by Anne-Marie Coppock, C.A.F.O.D. Regional Co-Ordinator for Lancaster and Salford Dioceses. The Fairtrade Pledge was presented by Cath Greenlees, a volunteer for Christian Aid, and a member of Preston and South Ribble Fairtrade Group.
Fairtrade Status means that the Parish will use Fairly Traded tea / coffee , at all it's church functions and promote Fairtrade whenever possible. Buying fairly traded goods , helps poor and isolated communities in developing countries, out of the poverty trap, by guaranteeing them a fair wage. A social premium may enable their communities to have access to clean water,
